Care Instructions

Sunlight
Both plants prefer partial shade, especially during the hot Cypriot summer. Protect them from intense midday sun by providing morning or late afternoon sunlight and shade during peak heat hours.

Watering
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, particularly during the establishment phase and hot periods. However, ensure that the soil drains well, as both plants dislike waterlogged conditions. Increase watering during the hotter months but avoid overwatering.

Soil
Plant in nutrient-rich, well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH (6.0–7.0). Adding organic matter like compost will enhance soil quality and drainage.

Temperature
Moringa and Blue Butterfly Pea thrive in warm conditions but should be protected from excessive heat over 35°C. Additionally, both plants are sensitive to frost, so shelter them during colder months, particularly in winter, to prevent damage.

Fertilizing
Fertilize with an organic, balanced fertilizer every few months. Blue Butterfly Pea will naturally enrich the soil with nitrogen, benefiting the Moringa, but occasional feeding will promote overall health and growth.

Pruning and Support
Prune Moringa to control its height and encourage bushier growth. Blue Butterfly Pea can climb on the Moringa or a trellis. Regular pruning of the Blue Butterfly Pea will keep it manageable and prevent it from overtaking the Moringa.

Pests and Diseases
Inspect regularly for pests like aphids or caterpillars. Use organic pest control solutions, such as neem oil, to address any infestations.

Frost Protection
Since both plants are sensitive to frost, cover them or move them to a sheltered area during colder weather, especially if frost is expected. You can use frost cloths or temporary shelters to protect them during the winter.
