Care Instructions
- Light Requirements:
Cacti generally need a lot of bright, direct light, around 12 hours daily. Succulents also thrive in full or bright, indirect light. If they start stretching or leaning towards the light, they may need more sun. A south-facing window is ideal for both cacti and succulents. - Watering Technique:
Water deeply but infrequently. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again. When watering, drench the soil until water drains out from the bottom. It’s best to water from the base of the plant to encourage healthy root growth. Avoid misting or using a spray bottle, as this can promote weak roots. - Soil & Pot Requirements:
Use well-draining soil specifically formulated for cacti and succulents, with mineral components like perlite, pumice, and sand to prevent water retention. Make sure your pot has drainage holes to avoid root rot. - Temperature & Humidity:Both cacti and succulents prefer warm daytime temperatures and cooler nights. They thrive in low humidity, as higher humidity can encourage fungal diseases.
- Feeding:
During the growing season (spring and summer), fertilize cacti and succulents monthly with a specialized fertilizer diluted to half strength.
By following these guidelines, you can keep your cacti and succulents healthy and thriving year-round.
